The Systems Behind Good Decisions

  • Systems
  • Leadership

This entry is a placeholder. It holds the page's layout while the real article is written.

Decision Systems

A good decision system has three parts:

  • Clear inputs (what data do I need?)
  • A framework (how do I weigh tradeoffs?)
  • A feedback loop (how do I learn from outcomes?)

Removing Ego

The hardest part of building decision systems is removing yourself from the equation. The goal isn't to be right - it's to be less wrong over time.

Compounding

Good decisions compound. One clear process leads to another. One good hire leads to three more. Systems thinking is just compound interest applied to judgment.
